As we previously mentioned, talented actor Narimiya Hiroki will embody the role of Ozaki Yutaka, who continues to captivate fans even 19 years after his passing. Narimiya will play as the rock star in his biographical drama series, “Boy of the Wind ~ Ozaki Yutaka, The Eternal Legend” (“Kaze no Shonen ～Ozaki Yutaka Towa no Densetsu”).
When asked about what inspired him to take on such a challenging role, the actor mused, ”A thrilling job that packs a punch and does not accept failure is great. This year will be one of that sort.”
Reflecting upon his 11 years in the entertainment business, Narimiya expressed “[I] felt a little tired of it [at times]. When [I] decided to give it my all over the next ten years, I really notice my incompetencies, and while trying to make up for them, completely exhaust myself. Through [my role as] Ozaki Yutaka, I hope to revise my own policies and standards”.
Narimiya also noted that his interpretation of Ozaki portrays a “feeling of walking along [his] own path, which is at the same time surprisingly human and filled with anxieties and uncertainty”.
As a fellow performer, Narimiya feels considerable pressure placed upon his shoulders. He expressed, “Ozaki’s songs are not merely those of defiance. Although I know I can’t be free, calling out for freedom is extremely painful. It is heart-wrenching to understand and admit this to yourself. As one who is sensitive to what others are thinking, I find this part difficult to tackle. I am in the process of training myself to prioritize how I think over everything else”.
After singing Ozaki’s songs, Narimiya revealed, “If you don’t give it your all, you won’t hit people’s hearts no matter how much skill is involved. I will really strive to accomplish this.”
